Oh Blessed Day!

I have been waiting years for this.

Finally ... finally ... FINALLY my employer is going to adopt a standardized paycheck system for the dealership. What's the big deal, you ask?

The big deal is that I will now be able to join those of you who regularly experience the wonder that is AUTOMATIC/DIRECT PAYROLL DEPOSIT.

Yes, it's true. Beginning in March or April, I will no longer be forced to snail-mail my paychecks to my credit union, which is located 1.5 hours away, in my hometown. Why bank with an institution so far away? Mostly because I've been with them since I was a wee little tike wearing Roughskins jeans. I'm comfortable with them; I know how they operate; I know their systems (online and otherwise).

(Before anyone pitches a fit about various "what ifs," I should point out that my wife and I DO have accounts with a local credit union, also. That one is mostly for emergency cash, which happens next-to-never.)

It is nice to know that your employer has finally moved into the 21st Century. You're gonna love it!

My HUGE company has also adopted the ONLINE pay stub, which compliments the direct deposit. I'm guessing that I will be fired in the future, and won't even know it until my bank starts sending me overdraft notices. I'm going to end up like the muttering character on "Office Space"
