This is similar to our story. We sold during the bubble and made $80K and sunk it into a bigger home in the Orlando, FL area. My wife was pregant and we did not want daycare so moved to Tallahassee where I got a job that afforded us the opportunity. We got a renter and kept it afloat for 2.5 years until I decided this is crazy and the renter moved out.

We are currently short selling the home now and have high hopes it will be all over with by the end of the month.
